Landscape parks wildlife tour

There are two unique natural parks 100 kilometers to the north of Kyiv: the huge Mizhrichynskyi National Park and the small Beremytske Park.

In these parks you can:

  • see Polish horses (the only descendants of wild tarpan horses),
  • walk through the real taiga marshes (an incredible extreme experience),
  • eat cranberries right from the bush (only in late autumn!),
  • taste the forest lunch and Polesia liqueurs,
  • touch a hornet hive, moose horns and beaver teeth…

And this is only a small part of the unique experiences that await you on our tour.

Tour Highlights:
Beremytske Park and tarpans

Beremytske Park

Beremytske Park is a part of the European ecological park network. Nature is preserved and renewed in its pristine state here. Walking along the park paths, you will see Polish horses – the only relatives of wild tarpans, the ancestors of modern horses, which died out in the late 19th century. Today, Beremytske Nature Park is one of the few places where you can see these beautiful horses.

Holy Lake

Holy Lake

The Holy Lake, as it’s marked on the map, isn’t a lake at all, but a real taiga marsh. There are many such lakes in the north of Russia, but for Ukraine it is a unique natural object.

Have you ever walked in a quagmire swaying under your feet and threatening to drag you into the depth? Never do it yourself as it is very dangerous. But we have an experienced conductor on our tour who will guide us through the marsh.

Mizhrichynskyi Park

Mizhrichynskyi Park

Mizhrichynskyi Landscape Park features many ecological paths allowing you to observe wild animals and birds.

In different seasons, you can see the Red List black grouses, gray cranes and black storks. Moreover, Ukraine’s largest population of mooses inhabits the park.

Picnic in the forest

Mizhrichynskyi Park

Fresh air helps to work up quite an appetite, therefore we will have lunch in a forest glade gazebo. Taste an incredibly delicious kulesh cooked according to the jaegers’ recipe.

We will be treated personally by the director of Mizhrichynskyi Landscape Park.

He will tell us many interesting stories about useful and poisonous plants, about birds and animals, and how to survive in the wild.

Polesye Museum and secret liqueurs

Mizhrichynskyi Park

Having left the forest, we will move to the Interactive Forestry Museum. Here you can see hornet nests, moose horns, wild hives, rifles, sabers, and try ethnic dresses on. Moreover, each of these things has its own history.

At the end of the tour, you will taste Polesye liqueurs prepared according to secret recipes, so the return trip to Kyiv will be fast and pleasant.

We had an amazing trip to Kyiv thanks to Wonders & Holidays team. This place is not to be missed- it’s magical we will be back! We had such a great driver Vladimir who knew exactly how best to navigate around Kiev with fantastic local knowledge. And Daria our guide was exceptional speaking multiple languages and making our trip interesting and fun. And big thanks to Nick who put this tailored made programme for us the way we wanted and accommodated us on every wish we made to be fit for a little child. We have amazing memories of our 3 days in Kiev! Thank you!

We did the beer tour in Kiev. Five beers in five different bars for two of us and our guide. That was a great chance to hang out with some locals, get to know the history and city a bit more, all while enjoying some of the unique local beers you can only find in Kiev. Our guide was very knowledgeable and great company and we had a fantastic evening! Highly recommended!

Highly recommend taking a tour with Wonders & Holidays. I learned so much about Ukrainian history that I wouldn't have on my own and the tour guides feel like friends (rather than just guides). I went on the Kiev in 180 minutes sightseeing tour with Igor and it was such a great experience. He was an excellent guide not only did he explain the history so well, but also answered any related or unrelated questions about Kiev and Ukraine. Both Igor and our driver Gestutas were so personable, accommodating, kind and professional - I hope I get the chance to go back again to take another tour with them.
