Two day tour to Chernobyl is a chance to see all the interesting places and secret objects of the Chernobyl Zone, to learn the unknown facts about the Chernobyl Disaster and to witness the Exclusion Zone’s life today. It is one of the most popular tours in Ukraine.

The Chernobyl Zone is a unique place that keeps traces of technological disaster, but at the same time it has become a nature reserve, where thousands of plants grow and dozens of animals, including those listed in the Red Book, live.

Day 1

Chernobyl-Pripyat


  • The city of Chernobyl: a museum, a church, a memorial and a bypass channel, where giant catfish live (you can feed them).
  • The vantage point with a view of the disaster site which is the fourth reactor of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. Today it is hidden under a secure shelter – the New Safe Confinement – a unique technological structure. Professionals from 27 countries had been constructing it for 10 years.
  • Abandoned villages, the Red Forest and the ghost town of Pripyat. Being here feels like time traveling.
Day 2

Pripyat


  • Visiting the secret places of Pripyat, which the tourists can’t see on one-day tours.
  • Meeting the self-settlers, people who returned to the Zone despite the ban and live there.
  • Exhibition of machines that were used to liquidate the Chernobyl Disaster.
  • Chernobyl 2 and DUGA-1 radar – Soviet top-secret military objects, part of the Soviet missile defense system.

Important information:

  • Take your passport with you, as there is passport control on the border of the exclusion zone;
  • Dress code: no shorts, no sandals, T-Shirts. You are advised to wear a jacket or a shirt with long sleeves, trousers and boots which fully cover your feet;
  • Minimum age to enter Chernobyl zone is 18 years;

We did the beer tour in Kiev. Five beers in five different bars for two of us and our guide. That was a great chance to hang out with some locals, get to know the history and city a bit more, all while enjoying some of the unique local beers you can only find in Kiev. Highly recommend taking a tour with Wonders & Holidays. I learned so much about Ukrainian history that I wouldn't have on my own and the tour guides feel like friends (rather than just guides). I went on the Kiev in 180 minutes sightseeing tour with Igor and it was such a great experience. He was an excellent guide not only did he explain the history so well, but also answered any related or unrelated questions about Kiev and Ukraine.
